Charlie Wilcox Cottage - October 2011
We had a lovely time at Charlie Wilcox, thank you. The cottage was lovely, atmospheric and comfortable and clearly enjoys a superlative
location.
The strong southerlies made the sea state interesting for fishing from the rocks from where I enjoyed some success (plus a conger from the harbour wall
on our last evening!) and the high spring tides were fairly dramatic too.
We visited Fowey, Talland, the shipwreck museum, went to the evening Halloween party at Eden, the caves and fairy walk, the monkey sanctuary -
loads of stuff - and at the end of the week we couldn't decide which we had enjoyed the most, which says it all really.
Dear Dave .............
Thank you for your lovely e-mail and glad you had an exciting holiday in October. Fancy catching a conger eel off the harbour wall. You obviously
enjoyed the winter excitement of the sea....
Regards
Fiona
Hi Fiona ...... You're more than welcome to cut 'n paste as much as you like of my email onto your customer comments page. No pictures of the conger I'm afraid as it was a bit of a two-handed fight but the evidence of the other fishing success from the rocks I mentioned is attached. A nice pollock from a nice and rough sea. A bit big for the dinner plate, which you may recognise, but it fed a family of 4 very well. Line caught pollock; Hugh Fearnley-Wittingstall would approve!
I very much hope we will be able to visit again soon.
regds, ........
Dave. ......... Hopefully photo to go up soon - Fiona
